Tides
The moon (luna) orbits the planet every 25 hours. When the moon is directly overhead it is high tide and when it is directly on the opposite side it is low tide. The hide tide is approximately one hour later that it was on the previous day.

Spring tides - When the moon is new or full the tide is strongest and these are called spring tides. The are associated with fulfillment and power.

Neap tides - When the moon is waxing or waning the tide is weakest and these are called neap tides. They are associated with cancellation and removal of power.

The moons cycle is repeated every 21 days.

Planets
There are 13 planets in the heavens. 12 are named after a zodiac sign and the 13th is called ‘the stranger’. As the planets move they enter different ‘houses’ (i.e. the portion of sky given to a certain zodiac.)

Every planet moves at a different speed and every planet can move forward and backward in the sky. The backward movement is called retrograde and happens when the planet in question is overtaken and passed by the earth. For a time the planet seems to stop in the sky and begin to move backward. When the earth gets sufficiently ahead in its orbit the planets backward movement seems to stop and it once again begins to move forward. When a planet retrogrades, is influence is reversed and so is the influence in the zodiac house it is currently in.

The stranger not only moves forward and backward but also up and down. The planet’s orbit is not in the same plane as all the other planets. It is tilted at approximately 30 degrees. When the stranger is climbing, good is most powerful and when it is descending, evil is the most powerful (retrograde reversal still applies).
